Questions or something not working? Email support@stickermint.com with your store's .myshopify.com address and, if it's about one quote, its number (for example Q-1042). We reply within one business day.

Getting started

  1. Install Mint Request a Quote from the Shopify App Store. The app home shows a short setup checklist.
  2. Add the button: on the app home click Add button in theme editor. The theme editor opens your product template with the Request a quote button block ready to add; place it under the price or the Add to cart button and click Save.
  3. Turn on the quote list: click Turn on in theme editor on the app home, switch on Quote list & hide prices and click Save. Shoppers then see a floating Quote button on every page once they've added something, and your hide-price rules apply.
  4. Check the emails: Settings → Emails chooses who gets new quote requests (your store's email by default). Click Send test email on the app home to see one.

How it works

  • A shopper picks a variant and quantity and clicks Request a quote: the product goes into their quote list (kept in their browser, up to 20 products) and the form opens. They can keep browsing and add more, then send the list with their name, email and the fields you ask for (phone, company, message: each optional, required or off), and tick the box to be emailed about the request.
  • Every product is checked live with Shopify when the request arrives (active, on your online store, not a gift card), and its list price at that moment is saved with the quote.
  • You get a new-quote email (reply to it to answer the shopper directly), the shopper gets a copy of their request in your store's name, and the quote appears in Quotes as New.
  • Free and Pro: set your prices on the quote and click Reply by email: your email app opens with the shopper's address, the quote number and your prices filled in. Mark the quote replied, won or lost as you go.
  • Plus: set your price for each product (or leave a product out with quantity 0), add up to 10 extra lines such as a setup fee, and shipping, then Save as draft order. Send quote to customer sends Shopify's invoice email with your message and a secure checkout link. When the customer pays, the draft order becomes an order and the quote is marked won (read from Shopify when you open Quotes, and hourly).
  • Spam protection: a hidden field and timing check for bots, limits per shopper connection (hashed, never stored as an IP address), per email and per store, and throwaway email domains blocked.

Hide prices (Pro)

  • Choose Product pages of products with a tag (default tag quote-only) or Every product, everywhere, and optionally only for visitors who aren't logged in; the button then shows a "Log in to see prices" link to them. You can also hide Add to cart, Buy it now and quick-add buttons.
  • The app embed prints the rule as CSS in the page head, so prices don't flash. It knows the markup of Shopify's Dawn and Horizon theme families; if your theme shows prices in its own markup, add its CSS selectors under Settings → Hide prices.
  • Hiding is visual. It doesn't change your products, so a hidden product can still be bought another way (for example a shared cart link). With Add to cart hidden, add the Request a quote button to the product page so shoppers can reach you.

Honest limits

  • Quotes and draft orders are in your store currency.
  • The quote list lives in the shopper's browser: it doesn't follow them to another device.
  • While your online store is password protected, only visitors who entered the password can see the button.
  • The shopper's phone number stays in the app; it isn't copied to the draft order.

Common questions

The button doesn't appear. Check that the block is in your live theme's product template, the product isn't a gift card, and (on Free) that this month's quote requests aren't used up.

Prices are still visible. Check the app embed is switched on, the product has your tag (or you chose every product), and you're not logged in when testing a visitors-only rule. If your theme isn't Dawn or Horizon based, add its price selectors in Settings.

The app says email sending isn't available. Emails are kept and sent automatically as soon as sending works. Every quote is in Quotes meanwhile. If it lasts more than a day, contact us.

I changed the app proxy URL. The form sends to /apps/mint-quote. If you changed that path under Settings → Apps → Mint Request a Quote → App proxy, change it back.

Plans

Free includes 10 quote requests a month, the button and quote list, the form fields you choose, new-quote emails and the shopper's copy, and reply by email; the form shows "Powered by Mint Request a Quote". When a month's quote requests are used up, the button is hidden until the 1st of next month (UTC). Pro is $6.99/month after a 7-day free trial and adds unlimited quote requests, hidden prices, CSV export, button style and colour, and removes the "Powered by" line. Plus is $12.99/month (same trial) and adds quotes as Shopify draft orders with your prices, extra lines and shipping, Shopify's invoice email with a checkout link, and quote status from Shopify (sent, paid). Moving from Plus to Pro keeps every draft order you made: it stays in Shopify, its checkout link keeps working and paid quotes are still marked won; updating or sending a draft again needs Plus. Plans are chosen and changed on Shopify's plan page (Plans → Choose a plan / Manage plan) and billed by Shopify.

Privacy

See our privacy policy and security policy. In short: we store what shoppers type into the quote form (encrypted) only so you can answer them, never their IP address, and erase contact details 180 days after a quote is won or lost.
