Terms of service
Last updated October 6, 2026
These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Request a Quote ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
The service
The app adds a Request a quote button (theme app block) and a quote list and price hiding (app embed) to your store, collects quote requests, emails you when one arrives and sends the shopper a copy, and lists the requests in your Shopify admin. On Pro it can hide prices and buy buttons by rules you set; on Plus it can also turn your quote into a Shopify draft order whose invoice Shopify emails to the customer with a checkout link. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.
Your quotes
You decide your prices, what you quote and to whom. Draft orders are created in your Shopify store with the prices you enter; Shopify handles the invoice email and checkout under Shopify's terms. Hiding prices is a display setting on your storefront pages: it does not change your products and doesn't stop a product being bought another way (for example a shared cart link).
Emails sent for you
New-quote emails go to the addresses you choose; the shopper's copy is sent on your behalf, in your store's name, only to shoppers who sent a request on your store. You are responsible for the texts you write. Delivery depends on the recipient's email provider and on our email service being available; when sending is unavailable, emails are kept and sent later, but we can't guarantee a delivery time. Every request is always listed in the app.
Plans and billing
Plans are chosen on Shopify's plan page and billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial, under Shopify's terms. You can change or cancel your plan there at any time, or uninstall the app; a move to the free plan takes effect at the end of the billing cycle already paid for.
Acceptable use
Don't use the app to email people who didn't make a request or to collect contact details for marketing without the shopper's consent. We may pause sending for a store that causes abuse, and will tell you why.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.
Data processing addendum
When the app processes personal data of your shoppers on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:
- process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
- process only the minimum data needed: what a shopper types into the quote form (name, email, and the phone, company and message fields you turn on), the products and quantities, your quote and note, the customer account ID when they were logged in, and a keyed one-way hash of their network address for rate limits (never raw IP addresses);
- use shopper contact details only so you can answer their quote request — never for our own marketing, never sold, never used for advertising or to train AI models;
- keep personal data confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
- encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest, plus app-level AES-256-GCM encryption of shopper contact details);
- use Cloudflare (hosting, database, queue and email sending) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
- erase contact details and notes 180 days after a quote is won or lost and IP hashes after 30 days, erase a shopper's data when Shopify sends an erasure request, and delete all shop data after uninstall (shop redaction);
- help you respond to data subject requests (the app lets you download a shopper's data) and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.
Changes
We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
